Some recent switch plates I’ve finally gotten around to photographing. They are all now listed on my Etsy site www.marcympc.etsy.com.

This past weekend I attended the Pittsburgh Polymer Clay Guild’s Spring Workshop with Christi Friesen. Learned lots of new techniques and created 4 pieces, which I’ll post if I ever get around to taking pictures. It was a fun time and a chance to revisit with a number of old friends and a few new ones.

  • Craft Fairs, Wine Stoppers, Switch Plates

And here are a couple of the wine stoppers I’ve begun working on:

Had a successful craft fair yesterday – didn’t sell many of the wine stoppers, but the hair pins went like crazy. And I tried bracelet handlers again this year – sold 3 of them to my surprise.

I’ve also been making switch plates for special orders. Here’s a sampling of the styles:

And here’s another switch plate from that red and gold batch as listed on Etsy:

  • Getting back into polymer clay

And here is a clock I just re-listed on Etsy.

A cute little calico desk clock.

I’m still trying to work out details for an order of switch plates in red and gold. Lots of ideas, still haven’t gotten to my work area to begin.

This weekend is the Sugarplum Shop – a seasonal boutique put on by a local art league. Tomorrow I spend the entire day there as one of the check-out cashiers. (Got to remember to pack a lunch!)

  • Some Recent Switchplates

So here are some switchplates I recently listed:

    Colorful Switchplate5 - il_fullxfull.516930501_1n33 (3)

    switch plates 5 001

You can see the difference between the ones I processed with Fotofuze and the one that is just as I took it. Some difference!

Had relatively minor dental surgery yesterday. I’m feeling better than I had been all last week, but still not really up to par.

  • Still figuring this out

Do I now get an email whenever there’s activity on my blog? Certainly better than being dead to Xanga as has been the case for the past 4 years. Maybe I’ll even start uploading photos and stuff again.

  • Xanga 2.0??

So Xanga finally found my email address (unchanged for the past 4 years) now that they want money for blogging? This is the first I’ve heard about a Xanga 2.0. What’s going on here? They didn’t seem to know I exist since 2010.

  • Sold another switch plate

At last – another Etsy sale!!  Since I’ve got 44 switch plates listed, it was nice to get one sold.  Must be time to list a new one.

In other news – a rose-breasted grosbeak visited our bird feeders recently.  Certainly a new one for our backyard!  And Susan (my stepdaughter) is visiting with us for a few days.

  • Winner

Today I won 3 Mah Jongg games – a new record for me!  We play every Wednesday, have been for maybe 4 years.  Generally I’m glad to win one per afternoon.

  • So this is my entry in the PCAGOE June challenge.  I call it “Lily Pond”.  The challenge was to produce something reminiscent of the 4 elements – earth, wind, fire, water – or of any one of them.  Obviously this one is in the ‘water’ category.  Actually, I have 4 or 5 that resemble this.  Only 2 are listed on Etsy right now.  Guess I’ll get around to the rest at some later date.

Haven’t been doing much polymer claying lately – too many other things going on.  Illnesses, decluttering the house, graduations.  It’s been a busy winter and spring.
